Our aim is to reach outside our church to bless and impact the people in our local community. We run a free regular weekly coffee morning and for a while held a monthly Sunday evening service in a local pub. We also put together a wide range of special events such as Meet the Neighbours, New Year's parties, Easter Picnics, quiz nights and 5-a-side football. Two of our members are town councillors and we actively support the town's annual Late Night Shopping event by providing marshalls.
We also pray for our community - both generally and especially as and when people bring specific needs to us for prayer. This has seen us getting out and about to pray - in groups up and down the high street and also spending an evening praying at each of the 7 road entrances into our town.
Each October we organise a Light Party for infant and junior school children as a positive alternative to Halloween. We celebrate Jesus as the Light of the World with fun games, food and short talk! We also had the privilege of hosting an evening with John Gaughan, bass guitarist for Herman's Hermits. Over 100 people came to hear how John had found Jesus as his Saviour and how his life had been totally transformed.
