Visit of Caroline West

cw1Our first visiting speaker of 2012 came all the way to Pocklington from Cambodia. Caroline West has been working in Cambodia for about three years doing preparation work to enable the translation of the Bible into one of the native languages, either Krung or Brao.

When she first arrived in Cambodia, Caroline spent some time in Phnom Penh before moving to Ratanakiri province in the Northeast of the country. There she worked with other missionaries while spending time with local people who assisted her in learning and writing down the language.

Her talk was based upon the scripture, ‘You shall know the truth and the truth will set you free’, as Christians believe that faith and truth come through the Word of God, translating the scriptures into native languages for the first time opens up the possibility of Salvation for new people groups. It gives a foundation and substance to the faith that they have received or will receive through verbal communication.

Please pray for Caroline, she is in need of a good rest and time of refreshing, during her furlough she needs to have her batteries recharged and people around her that will encourage and uplift her in body, soul and spirit.
