It was great to see Neil and Val MacKay back in PCF on Sunday 8th May. Neil used to be co-pastor of the church with Tony Wake for many years up until 2006. They each shared what Jesus has been doing in their lives at their new home - Christchurch - in Bridlington.

Good Friday is a day where we remember what Jesus Christ did for us by dying on the cross. He died to save us from an eternity without Him. He died so that we may have life everlasting with Him if we accept Him into our lives as Lord and Saviour.
In February and March, Pocklington Christian Fellowship held a six week course about 'raising financially confident kids'. The course attended by a dozen people was devised by 'Care for the Family' and the facilitator was Paul Hodgson from Scarborough.
Topics covered were; 'Get to know your family finances', 'Simple ways to stay in control', 'The best ways to pay', 'Your family budget', 'Get to grips with credit and debt' and 'Looking ahead'.

A decision was made in November to start the New Year with prayer over the Town from the vantage point of Chapel Hill. However, in November we didn’t know what the weather was going to be like.
The evening of 31st December 2010 started with a church party from 7 to 10pm; this was a huge success, with everyone having an excellent time. There were several team games organised by the Henderson family and the evening concluded with an epilogue by Arthur Dean whose focus was on new beginnings!

2010 sees PCF celebrate forty years in the building on Chapmangate. On the evening of 19th September a crowd of former members, new friends and current attendees enjoyed a celebration service which reminded us of the history of PCF.
The church, pioneered in 1959, met in hired halls for over a decade until in 1970 the Congregational Church was put up for sale. With no money, the then named ‘Pocklington Pentecostal Church’, bought the building for £700 under the leadership of Pastor Jim McGeachie. Over the next few years, the debt was paid and leaders came and went.
In 1974 Tony Wake took up the position as Pastor and although he retired in December 2005, he still plays an important part in the church life. The stability he brought along with the help of associate pastor Neil McKay helped establish the fellowship allowing it to grow.
